Radioactive RoadTrippin’

Nuclear Spin Cycle Productions proudly presents Radioactive RoadTrippin’ (R&R)a travelogue show about nuclear weapons produced for YouTube. R&R tells the story of a disillusioned nuclear weapons expert who hits the road for a year, traveling across the United States in a truck camper with her two dogs and hoping to make a midlife transition from a long-time career as a national security expert in Washington D.C. to a TV and film producer in Texas. Along the way, she visits historical and current sites of the U.S. nuclear weapons complex, chats with locals and experts about the risk of nuclear war, and documents her own life-changing journey.

American Doomsday

American Doomsday began as a Kickstarter Campaign, set to launch on April 1, 2020, to fund the production of a dark comedy stage play that would tell the story of what might occur if nuclear weapons are “enhanced” with artificial intelligence. Natasha hoped to raise awareness about the risks of nuclear weapons by calling attention to the fragility of nuclear deterrence as a national strategy, the growing risks of nuclear war, and the dangers of integrating AI-enabled automation into nuclear weapon systems. With the emergence of a real-life doomsday situation (aka the COVID-19 pandemic which lasted a few years), Natasha canceled the campaign, postponed the stage play and redesigned it a multi-year project that explores different modes of expression including fiction novels, a graphic novel, a TV pilot, and eventually, a stage play.

Dark Sun

Dark Sun is a limited series drama with elements of thriller and political intrigue, exploring the themes of nuclear war, climate change, political maneuvering, race, and gender issues while focusing on the personal and professional journey of Dr. Lauren Fuller, a female, black, climate scientist working at the White House. As powerful forces in the White House politicize the looming climate catastrophe, Lauren must prove the worth of her expertise, navigate the fallout of past mistakes, and find a way to get the President to heed scientific warnings—all while India and Pakistan spiral toward a fateful showdown. In 2024, the screenplay was selected as a semi-finalist by the North Fork TV Festival and a second-rounder by the Austin Film Festival.

Authors of Mass Destruction Podcast

The Authors of Mass Destruction Podcast, hosted by Natasha Bajema, focuses on helping authors write great stories while getting the details right. As fiction authors, we dream about impacting our readers, moving them to tears, or inspiring them to take action. What if novels or screenplays could do much more than that? What if they could raise public awareness and shape policy through storytelling? Listen for interviews with leading experts on weapons of mass destruction and emerging technologies, author interviews, technical modules, and reviews of what TV shows and movies get right and wrong. The podcast helps authors who write about mass destruction develop impactful ideas for their page-turning plots.
