Safari Stories – Elephants and Giraffes

As amazing as it is to see the big cats like leopards in Kruger National Park, elephants and giraffes are my favorite animals to see hands down. Both animals are beautiful and majestic and move about the bush with an usually peaceful grace given their size and stature. I can’t get tired of seeing them. On my safari, I counted myself very lucky to have been able to see both of them…first while eating lunch at Hamilton’s Tented Camp. I arrived at Hamilton’s Tented Camp on July 9 at around 1pm, just in time for lunch. As I waited for Read more…

Safari Stories – Leopards

Last week, I returned from my three-week trip to South Africa and was able to check completion of an Earthwatch Expedition off of my bucket list. So what happened?? Well,  Delta airlines happened. Before I regale my tale Read more…

Primates and Predators

One last post before I take off on my next journey so that you know what i’m up to when I go offline for four weeks. In a few weeks, I’ll be traveling to the other side of the world on my own and be surrounded by the wild. I can’t wait to collect new experiences, new stories, meet new people and experience God’s beautiful creation. Truthfully, I’m finally a bit nervous about my upcoming adventure. It’s a good thing that I don’t really think about risks when I plan these things. If I thought things through in advance, I’d Read more…

My Bucket List

And you should make sure you begin doing the things you dream about before it is too late. This is not about being morbid and dwelling on the inevitability that is death, but rather about seizing the day…and living each day like it might be your last. My bucket list has changed several times over the years. Of course, I’ve crossed many items off of the list (Pyramids, skydiving, riding a camel, visit 6 Read more…
